Our staff are on-site seven days a week and are trained to monitor and react to irregular or suspicious activity in or around the store. Out of hours, our secure self-storage units are closely monitored by an external security company through CCTV.
All new customers are photographed and need to provide relevant identification before they can start storing with us. Cash payment is not accepted for the initial transaction as this needs to provide a traceable source of payment for new customers.
Every storage unit has its own lock. You, the customer, will hold the only key to that lock. To ensure the security of our self-storage, we do not allow customers to provide their own locks unless they are up to the robust standards required by Store & Secure.
Store & Secure does not offer unrestricted 24-hour access to our store. Access is limited to our reception trading hours which is open 6 days a week. Our storage security service can be summarised as the following:
- Digital CCTV covering all the main access points to the storage area, constantly monitored throughout the day and then during the night by an external security company
- Fire & Smoke alarm system throughout the store
- Sites staffed 7 days a week
- Staff trained to monitor all security services
- Store monitored by external security company after hours
- Staff walk-around before reception opens and closes
- Daily store patrols by staff
- Licence terms & conditions
- Requirement for customer ID and proof of address
